The Flame Sensor Module detects flames within the 760 – 1100 nanometer wavelength range, and can identify small flames, such as those from a lighter, at a distance of approximately 0.8 meters. With a detection angle of about 60 degrees, the sensor is highly sensitive to the flame spectrum. Based on the YG1006 sensor, a high-speed, highly sensitive NPN silicon phototransistor, the module is particularly responsive to infrared radiation due to its black epoxy casing.
This sensor is an excellent choice for use in firefighting robots, allowing them to "see" and locate fire sources. When a flame is detected, the Signal LED will illuminate, and the D0 pin will output a LOW signal.
