The Raindrop Detection Sensor Module is designed for rain detection and measuring rainfall intensity. This sensor is widely used for weather monitoring applications, providing output signals through AO (Analog Output).
The module consists of a printed circuit board (PCB) that "collects" raindrops. As the raindrops accumulate on the PCB, they form paths of parallel resistance that are detected by the onboard op-amp. The more water (lower resistance), the lower the voltage output. Conversely, the less water (higher resistance), the higher the output voltage on the analog pin. For example, a completely dry board will produce a 5V output.
This module features a separate rain board and control board for added convenience, a power indicator LED, and an adjustable sensitivity via a potentiometer. It is built around the LM393 op-amp for stable performance.
